MAN SHOT IN HEAD

NEIGHBOUR ARRESTED AFFRAY AT CHRISTCHURCH Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. As a result of a shooting affray in Green’s Road, Papanui, this morning, Frederick Richardson, aged 56, u labourer, has been arrested on a charge of attempting to murder John Armstrong, aged 42. Armstrong is now in hospital with a shot wound in his back, and pellets in his head. He is expected to recover. The parties are said to have been neighbours. The police allege that Armstrong was shot after a quarrel, the cause of which is unknown. [Neighbours heard a shot and telephoned for the police. Richardson made no attempt to evade arrest. Armstrong, who now lives in the city, was visiting Richardson's house in Papanui when the affair occurred.
