EL ARISH’S SUCCESS RESULTS OF RING EVENTS (From Our Own Correspondent) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday. The Waikato Central Agricultural ; Association’s annual show was con- I eluded yesterday. It was just as sue - cessful iis previous fixtures, despite j unfavourable weather in the morning the attendance was large in the after- j noon, and the gate takings were £IBB ; 13s 3d. against £lB9 last year. The grand parade was a spectacular affair and was a fine advertise- I ment for the Waikato and the Cam- i bridge district in particular. The i cattle were led by that magnificent Friesian bull. Mrs. B. J. Clements’s ! Brachi-n King Pietje and the array \ of hunters by the veteran champion. 1 El Arish. The big parade of stock represented the cream of Waikato’s pedi- j gree cattle and the district’s best : horseflesh. Additional awards were: HUNTING EVENTS Cleverest Hunter—A. M. Samuels’s El Irish, 1; P. H. Clarkin, 2; Earl Johnstone, 3. Champion Hunter —A. M. Samuels’s El Arish, 1; Earl Johnstone's Toki, 2; Miss L. Johnstone’s Spark, 3. There were 14 entries, the display of leaping in this event being the best El Arisli’s experience gained him honours ! by a small margin. El Arish won the ! silver cup outright for his owner, hav- , ins won it two years in succession. He i is 21 years of age, and is jumping as i well as ever. He was ridden to-day by ! F. Baker.
