P.M.G. AT WELLINGTON Press Association BLENHEIM, "Wednesday. I Concluding his tour of the South 1 Island, the Postmaster-General, Hon. J. B. Donald, arrived at Blenheim this i afternoon from Kaikoura. He was i given a civic welcome on this his first ; official visit to Blenheim. The Minis- j ter said he had learned a great deal ; about the South Island during the j trip. ‘T have travelled from the north to the south and back again,” said Mr. Donald. “I have not been through the West Coast, but what I have seen lias surprised me beyond measure. I am sure the South has just as much, if not more, to be proud of as we have in the North. It has wonderful possibilities. I am glad this is so, because we have thought the North the only place that wanted population.” After receiving a number cl deputations the Minister, as Government representative, attended a dinner given to the old identities of the district in celebration of the diamond jubilee of tlio borough of Blenheim. He will leave for Wellington to-morrow.
