Who Owned Cycle?

An unusual case was heard in the Hastings Magistrate’s Court to-day when the Bench was asked to make an order determining the ownership of a cycle, the property of a bank clerk, who had left the machine in a right-of-way from which it was stolen. The thief sold tlje bicycle to a second-hand dealer, who paid £2 for it. He naturally wished compensation for this amount. The magistrate made an order that the cycle be returned to its true owner, and said that the second-hand dealer would have to put the £.2 co his profit and loss account.
