SOVIET’S LATEST DECREE SWEEPING EVICTION ORDER ftluriralian and IV.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Wednesday. ■Hie Riga correspondent of "The Times” says the Soviet has issued a decree evicting from their homes all noa-workers whose incomes exceed ■£3oo a year “without providing them with other dwellings.” The evictions do not require legal Procedure, but merely the local authorities’ administrative eviction order.
The Ssoviet authorities estimate that 25,000 will be evicted in Leningrad alone.
The Soviet-Japanese dispute regarding fishing rights in the Far East has become more acute. According to a Moscow message, the Japanese Government is preparing a Note protest’ng against the Soviet’s attitude, particularly its refusal to consider the ultimtaum that Japan presented in connection with leases of new fishingSrounds at Kamchatka.
