ROAD WORKER KILLED Press Association PALMERSTON N., Tuesday. Working on the road deviation undertaking at Apiti this morning a young unmarried labourer, Jock Marsden, aged 30 years, met his death through being crushed by a fall of earth. The scene of the accident is a large cutting which is being made at the top of the hill on the main road leading into Apiti at a point about three miles on the Feilding side of the township. While Marsden was working a horse dray a fall of earth came down and overwhelmed him. He was apparently killed outright.

Formerly of Christchurch, deceased lived at Palmerston North.
