SATURDAY’S PROGRAMME

On Saturday the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron has a. series of harbour races for A and B class yachts and the M patikis. The first-class fleet will race for the Governor-General's Cup and miniature, the B’s for a prize of. £lO, and the M’s for the Drysdale Cup and miniature. An invitation has been extended to his Excellency Sir Charles Fergusson, who is now in Auckland, to witness the racing from a. launch or to sail with one of the yachts. Great preparations have been made for the Ponsonby Cruising Club‘s annual regatta, which takes place off St. Mary‘s Bay on the same day. Big entries were received a year ago and the fixture was an outstanding suc—cess. It is hoped yachtsmen will give the regatta their fullest support. Ponsonby's history goes back to 1900, and each year the club has staged a creditable showing. Added interest will be lent by the inclusion of side—show and swimming evcnts off the clubhouse. The. New Zealund Power-Boat Association will hold a marathon race for outboards. The race will be held in conjunction with the club’s annual picnic.
