ABANDONED HER CHILD

( Speciat to THE Sl y . DUNEDIN. Monday. On a. charge of abandoning her in- | fant child. Pearl Caroline Hisiop was j ordered to be detained in the BalvaI tion Army home at Cavecsham for 12 ; months by Mr. Justice MacGregor, in the Supreme Court this morning. It was fortunate, said the Crown Prosecutor, that she did not have to answer a more serious charge. For the defence, Mr. E. J. Anderson claimed that she had left the child near a house, in a place where it would soon be found. The police report contains evidence which will figure in a criminal charge against another person.
