The employment of men at the Govrnnunt relief rate of pay is appar*UY attracting men from work on l ne land to take over jobs on the roads. Qno flaxmiller complains that he had ranged for a gang to cut his flax, ot when the new Government rate ot Pay was known they left to take relief work. The flax may now " av e to be destroyed. It is difficult to men owing to relief pay being so attractive.
