PRINTING FIRM’S PICNIC Three large buses took the staff of Abel. Dykes, Ltd., and their friends to the annual picnic at Ferndale on Saturday afternoon, itli tile delightful Henderson Valley situation, fine weather, and a well organised sports programme, a good time was assured. The beautiful husli of the Waitakeres was a further attraction. Dancing had been arranged in the hall, where Mr. W. C. Rotherham later presented the prizes and trophies won in the sports contests. Results were as follow:—Women’s handicap: Miss Ambrose, 1; Miss Langham, 2. Employees’ handicap: E. Allen, 1: W. Sweeney, 2. •‘Marquis of Lome Plate”: A. Whitehead and W. Peterson. Apprentices’ handicap: Allen, 1; Agnew, 2. Relay race: Binding department.
