NEW LYNN BOROUGH

COMING MAYORAL ELECTION After the municipal elections at the beginning of May, New Lynn will take up its full status as a borough. In that month the electors will be called upon to elect a Mayor and council. The present New Lynn Town Board will carry on in the meantime. The question of whether the new council should consist of six or nine members was referred to the board’s solicitors at a meeting of the board on Tuesday evening. A good contest for the Mayoralty is practically assured. As well as Mr. W. L. Titcliener, the present chairman of the board, who has definitely announced his candidature, Mr. Isaac Hughes, a former member of the board, and Mr. H. Oakley Brown, have been approached. Mr. G. Lawson, a former chairman, was also approached but, as he cannot spare the time, he has declined.
