Hairdresser’s Loss Tho premises of B. Palenski. hairdresser and tobacconist of Cuba Street, Palmerston North, were entered by burglars last night and a quantity of stock is missing. Entrance was effected by smashing a pane of glass and turning the lock. Man Missing A Press Association message reports that Alfred Charles Wright, aged 55, hotelkeeper, of Petone, disappeared from the Hanmer Hospital on February 12. Despite a close search having been made, there is, as yet, no trace of his whereabouts. He was last seen near St. Helen’s station. Fraud Alleged At the New Plymouth Supreme Court session, William Draper pleaded not guilty to-day to several charges of fraud against the Post Office Bank at Waitara. He is alleged to have forged the name of Hannah Free to three withdrawal slips for sums of £SO. The trial is proceeding.
