WELCOME HOME
MR. JORDAN’S VICTORY A welcome home was tendered Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., on Saturday evening at Mr. Coppin’s Hall, Panama Estate, Mount Wellington district. The function took the form of a social evening, Mr. J. Hotham officiating as chairman over a gathering of fifty or sixty persons. The chairman, on behalf of the district, extended a most hearty welcome to Mr. Jordan on his victory in the last election. Mr. Jordan offered his most sincere thanks to the people of Manukau for the very fine vote given him while lie was absent and said he would strive to do his best to justify the confidence placed in him. He then gave a very interesting outline of his journey abroard. During the evening musical items were contributed by Messrs. Allanson and Howard, assisted by Messrs. Dickson, Wren, Allanson and Randall.
