Onehunga Fire

A fire broke out at noon to-da)* in an extensive area of scrub and gorse on the Merriland Estate, One Tree Hill. Several houses in Ngapuhi Road were threatened, but a timely alarm reaching the Onehunga Fire Brigade resulted in the prompt suppression of the flames before any damage had been done.
