PETROL FROM COAL
SUCCESSFUL TEST MADE (Australian and N.Z . Press Association) Reed. 12.16 p.m. LONDON, Friday. Two engines of the Cirrus-Jaguar type were started unwarmed and ran full revolutions at the Stag Lane airdrome, on petrol from coal. Experts present were most impressed by the possibilities of the Home manufacture of petrol. They pointed out that the reserve of fuel in England does, not exceed a month’s supply. In the event of war cutting off imports, this might quickly lead to a position of jeopardy.
