TOURNEY REACHES FINAL STAGES RESULTS OF INTER SECTION PLAY The winners of the various sections in the Auckland Bowling Centre’s pairs tournament were found yesterday. Post-section play started on the Remitera green at 5.45 this morning. Later results yesterday were as follow: SECTION A (At Mangere) Fifth Round.—Richmond 37. v. Sander- j son 11: Vella. IS, v. Gordon 15: Kirk 26. j v. Sissons 16. In the play-off Vella beat ! Richmond. SECTION B (At Mangere) Fifth Round.—Brake 24, \ . de La.unay j 16; Hopwood 22, v. Mason 16; Haslam 28, v. Fletcher 10. Brake won the section. SECTION C (At Hillsborough) Fifth Round.—Lundon 27, v. Thomson 17; Wyatt 20, v. Horsley 19; Mcßeath 24, v. Butler 20. Mcßeatli won the section with four wins and one loss. SECTION D (At Hillsborough) Fifth Round.—Casey 20, v Gollan IS; Stelle 22. v. Hardley 20; Hayden 29. v. Wright 24. Casey and Steele tied, the former winning the play-off. SECTION E (At Carlton) Bremner (West End) was the successful skip in section E. SECTION F (At Carlton) Section F was won by W. Ball (Carlton). SECTION G (At Papatoetoe) Fifth Round.—Best 13, v. Price 25; J. F. Hosking 15, v. Pearce 28; Smyth email 20, v. Armstrong 29. Pearce won the section outright. SECTION H (At Papatoetoe) Fifth Round.—G. Hosking 12, v. Loram 25; Parsons 25, v. Thomas 20; Sigley 16, v. Wilson 21; Rawnsley 18, v. Keith 25. Parsons and Loram tied with four wins each, the former winning the play-off by 26 to 14. SECTION I (At Epsom) Fifth Round.—Vivian 13, v. Russell 22; Buxton 14, v. Kirkpatrick 18; Allen 19, v. Tomlinson 20. In the play-off Vivian 18, beat Kirkpatrick 10. SECTION J (At Epsom) Fifth Round.—Turner 25, v. Moore 13; Banbridge 22, v. Proctor 20; Duffin 19, v. McGill 17. Letham defaulted to Gatland. Duffin, with five wins, won the section. INTER-SECTION PLAY First Round. —Bird and Duffin (Carlton), 25, V. Jenkins and Mcßeath (Epsom), 17; Sykes and Pearce (Otahuhu), 19, v. Harrison and Vella (Onehunga), 18.
ROTORUA RESULTS ROTORUA, Thursday. The final stages of the Rotorua bowling tournament have now been reached. Section ties were played off to-day and also a semi-final. Results are as follow; Section A—Roylance (Rocky Nook) beat Knight (Papatoetoe), 22—21; Munro, (Island Bay) beat Roylance, 20—16. Section B—Merriman (Rotorua) beat Budd (Te Puke), 13—8, 11 heads beingplayed. Fraser (Palmerston North) lost to Merriman, 14—16. Semi-final—-Crawford (Karori) beat Merriman (Rotorua), 23 —13. This game was chiefly notable for the fine drawing of the winning team. Rotorua’s task was hopeless from the eighth head onward. MUNRO WINS FINAL Press Association ROTORUA, To-day. In the final of the bowling tournament, Munro (Island Bay) defeated Crawford (Karori). 21 —17.
