Pink Coat and Nincompoop (toj gether) were well clear of Solgele at the end of half a mile sprint in 50 2-5. Happy Queen, an overnight arrival from Ashburton, ran a useful half-mile straight on the course, and beat Disorder in 50. Beau Geste easily beat Thorndale over three furlongs in 38. Troilus worked on the plough and was very sore.
