BETTER MAIL SERVICE
HAURAKI PLAINS DELIVERY (From, Our Own Correspondent) NGATEA, Thursday. A rrangements are now being made by the Postal Department for the conveyance of daily letter mails between Ngatea, Paeroa and Auckland by service cars. Air. M. Dent, of Ngatea, who in December last made representations to the Hon. J. B. Donald. Post-master-General, was advised on Tuesday that the .service would be commenced as soon as arrangements could be made with the Waihi-Paeroa Transport Company, Ltd., for the free cartage of letter mails. The service will be much appreciated as at present letters posted after 8 a-m. are not delivered in Auckland until the following day. Under these circumstances, businessmen have been risking the penalty and getting service car drivers to post their letters on arrival in Auckland. Paeroa will also benefit from Ngatea s representations.
