BRUTAL ATTACK MADE

VOLUNTEER WORKERS INJURED TWO TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. (Vniit'd T A. —2»j/ Telegraph — Copyright) Reed. 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, To-day. A party of 20 men committed a brutal attack upon three volunteer timber workers. Two were admitted to hospital. The attackers were driven to the scene of the assault in a motor-lorry. A Melbourne message says that practically the whole of the bushmilling industry in Victoria is now at a standstill. Large numbers of timber workers have displayed opposition to a continuance of the strike, and, but for the extremists in the organisation and the pickets, they would quickly renounce the directions of the union.
