ROADWORK BY PRISONERS
NEW SOUTH WALES SCHEME Reed. 10.10 p.m. SYDNEY, To-day. The Minister of Justice, the Hon. J. R. Lee, is considering: a scheme for the establishment of prison camps for carrying out roadwork in the State, by utilising prison labour. It is thought to relieve the distress of prisoners’ families, who have been left penniless and have become a burden on the State.
