MID-WEEK CRICKET

The Te Awa cricket team visited King’s College yesterday, and defeated the school’s first eleven by 102 runs. Te Awa made 190 for nine wickets. A. Howden showing a glimpse of his old form for 45 retired. Wilson made 31 and C. E. Howden 24 retired. Gill, four for 58, was King’s most successful bowler. The school replied with 88 runs, Gillett being the highest scorer with 22 not out. Caughey made 18. Bowling for Te Awa, Howden 4-12, Webb 3-24, and Walton 2-14. Pacific Cable Board beat Telegraph Engineers at cricket yesterday by 28 runs. The Cable Board made 105 (Norton 25 retired, Kilworth 23, Stoupe 16, Gilmour 28). Bowling for the Engineers, Simpson took four for 26. The Engineers replied with 78 (Sallen 36). Bowling for the cablemen, Stoupe 4-29, Kilworth 3-16, and Langley 3-11.
