MISSING “BARONET”
UNAVAILING SEARCH MADE HIS MEMORY LOST? ’ (United P.A.—By Telegraph — Copyright) ! (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) Reed. 9.25 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. A resultless search has been made for Alexander Kenneth Murray, from Canberra, who arrived at London in June to establish his claim to a baronetcy and extensive estates, and later disappeared. It is presumed that he has lost his memory. When he arrived in Britain, he communicated with Australia House, which had a conference with the Scottish authorities. Finality was not reached. It is ascertained that Mr. Murray was perturbed, and complained of “passive resistance to my claims.” In the course of a letter to a friend he complained that it was terrible. He had expended money eo establish the claim, and did not know what to do. The last record of him is a letter dated September 29 from an Edinburgh suburb to the son of a fruitgrower near Sydney, in which he said he was being taken to India. Australia House was asked to trace him, and communicated with the police and Scottish authorities, without result. Many letters addressed to Sir Alexander Murray are awaiting him at Australia House. Prior to his disappearance he visited Sir Granville Ryrie and presented him with panoramic views of Canberra and the visiting card of “A. K. Murray, editor and proprietor, ‘Federal Capital Pioneer,’ Canberra.”
