GOLFERS FOR N.Z.
PROFESSIONALS WILLING TO TOUR
A match with the professional, Sinclair. considered the best golfer in Australia and New Zealand, was enjoyed by Mr. E. J. Moss, professional of tho Auckland Golf Club, during his six weeks’ trip to Sydney. He played Sinclair at Cronulla and went round in 67, Sinclair being one less. Bogey was 72. “Four of the most prominent Australian professionals, Sinclair. Corry, Spence and Eyre, are willing to make a tour of New Zealand, giving exhibition matches,” said Mr. Moss. “They are not seeking a profit, but all they ask is that their expenses should be covered. If they made such a' tour I consider it would be the best thing that ever happened to golf in New Zealand.”
Moss stated Australian golfers were eagerly looking forward to a visit from Sloan Morpeth in June, for the KirkWindeyer Cup contest, which would take place at Melbourne.
