WAS NURSE NEGLECTED?
AUTHORITIES SAY NO Press Association WELLINGTON. Monday. The inquest was continued to-day j concerning the death at the Roriruu. | Mental Hospital of Edith Mary Paynter, a nurse, who died there on February 10 following an illness after being attacked by a girl patient. The coroner said that the evidence i satisfied him as to the cause of death, | but it was necessary to take further evidence when suggestions of neglect i or failure of duty on the part of those jin charge of public institutions were made. ; Nurses gave evidence alleging that deceased was neglected, given no food, 1 and made to work when not lit to do so. It was also alleged that deceased was locked in her room. Other evidence was that deceased was being treated for hysteria. She j was given plenty of proper food.
