BY-LAWS ADOPTED
STORING DANGEROUS GOODS IN MANUKAU
By-laws, mainly to conform with the Dangerous Goods were adopted this morning by the Manukau County Council at a special meeting. Dangerous goods were defined and regulation of the keeping and storing of such goods within the county, especially on private property, was fixed. Provision was made for the obtaining of licences for storing dangerous goods, and inspection will be made of premises where the goods are stored. Another by-law adopted said that buildings in the vicinity of Mangere Crossing and Mangere Bridge should, except in special circumstances, be built or added to in brick, stone or concrete. For the first time, a by-law was placed on the council’s records with regulations for tho construction of fireplaces and chimneys.
The last by-law adopted stipulated that bicycles will have to carry rear reflectors.
