Merchants report receipt of overseas cables as follow: — Norden and Co., from their London principals, Andrew Clement and Sons, under date February 14:—•'Butter, 178 s to 180 s (equivalent to Is s.Sid to Is 5.52 d a lb f.o.b. New Zealand ports. Cheese, white, SSs (equivalent to 7.86 d a lb f.o.b. N.Z.); coloured, 925. Both markets quiet.” Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., from their London office, dated February 14:—Butter: Prices unchanged: finest, 182 s; unsalted, 186*. Little offering under 180 s; market again dull after brief activity; Danish, 185 s f.o.b. Cheese: White, SSs; coloured, 925; market slow. Joseph Nathan and Company, from its London house, Trengrouse and Nathan: —.Cheese: White, S7s; coloured, 91s. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., from its London house, dated Februayr 14:—Butter: The market is slow. New Zealand finest salted, 178 s to ISOs; Danish, 195 s to 19€ s: ’ Australian finest unsalted, 182 s to 184 s; > finest salted, 178 s to ISOs; general average 1 quality, 174 sto 1765. Cheese: The marj ket is very dull. New Zealand, white, 1 88s; < oloured, 925; Canadian white, 108 s > to 112 s; coloured, 106 sto 110 s. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom last, month were 603,000 cwt, as compared with 527,000 cwt for the corrcs- ’ ponding period of last year.
