ANNUAL TOTALS GIVEN SETTLEMENT ACT COST (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service^ LONDON, Thursday. Mr. G. Locker-Lampson Under-Sec-retary for Foreign Affairs, stated in the House of Commons that the annual total numbers of British emigrants since 1919 were as follow: 115,C00. 198,000, 136,000, 118,000, 158 000, 139.000, 108,000, 130,000, 126,000, 111,000. _ _ The arrival totals since 1922-23 of those assisted under the Empire Settlement Act were: —13,000. 39.000, 40,000. 41,000, 06,000, 57,000, and in the last nine months, 38,000. The respective v early expenditures were: £425,000. £423,000, £570.000, £1 129,000. £1.283,000. and £784,000.
