TRANSPORT IN TASMANIA COMMITTEE INVESTIGATES HOBART, Wednesday. f A special committee, consisting of Federal and State officials, recently investigated the transport systems of Tasmania. In its report it says there is great waste and overlapping. The committee recommends the coordination of rail and motor transportation, the creation of a transport authority and a Federal marine authority for the control of ports and harbours. It also recommends a subsidy for some shipping company for the maintenance of proper communication with the rest of Australia.
