COLLECTION OF RATES

The Tree Hill Road Board, at a meeting last evening, received a report which stated that of £22,900 in rates levied for the current year, £21,029 had been paid by January 31. This was a, percentage of 91.83, compared with 91.6 for the same period last year. The building inspector reported that eight building permits to the value of £6,763 had been issued. Of the amount, £3,900 was for shops, and £2,610 for houses. The traffic inspector reported on a campaign against noisy motor-vehicles and stated that he had prosecuted in 23 cases and had given 70 cautions.
