ATTENTIONS RESENTED
GIRL FEARS PERSISTENT SWAIN COURT TAKES A HAND Said to have pestered a girl by showering her with letters and telegrams which frightened her, Walter Edward Hyde appeared at the Police Court this morning to answer a petition that he be bound over to keep the peace. The detailrd charge against Hyde, an hotel porter and clerk aged 47, was that he sent telegrams and correspondence to the girl so that she had reason to fear that he would do her bodily harm. Mr. R. A. Singer, representing petitioner, was of the opinion that the t'ew hours Hyde had been under lock and key had done him a great deal of good. He had been pestering the girl with dangerous attentions which had caused trouble with her employers. Counsel suggested that the case be stood down for six months. “Some hold over the man is necessary.” he said. Mr. Terry, for Hyde, deprecated Mr. Singer’s remark about danger. The man was just following her up. Ihe course suggested by Mr. Singer was <]uite satisfactory, however. The case was adjourned until August 16. with costs against Hyde.
