STATE LOAN CONDITIONS

UNNECESSARILY HARSH SOLDIER SETTLERS COMPLAIN (Special to THE SUN) HAMILTON, To-day. At a meeting of the Waikato Returned Soldiers’ Association held on Tuesday it was decided to wait on Mr. J. A. Young, M.P., to ask that the regulations governing the payment of bills of sale by soldier settlers should be amended, as the meeting considered them unnecessarily harsh. It was reported that the Land Department had begun to make bills of sale from soldier settlers payable on demand, and that the department was protected by being able to demand the whole or any part of the settlers’ cream cheques at any time.
