A.A.A. ITINERARY

The touring manager of the A.A.A., Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, and Mr. J. Park, member of the council, leave on Thursday for a 10-day tour of North Auckland. They will confer with motorists and local bodies concerning points raised this week during the tour of the Main Highways Board. Following is the itinerary: Helensville, February 14, 2 p.m.. stay night: Port Albert, 15th, 10.30 a.m.: Wellsford, 11.30 a.m.; Maungaturoto, 2 p.m.; Ruawai, 3.30 p.m.; Dargaville, 5 p.m.; Kaihu, 8 p.m.; Kauri Park. 16th, 9 a.m.; Kauri Forest. 10 a.m.: Rawene, 3 p.m.; Kaikohe, 6 p.m.; Kohukohu, 17th, noon; Kaitaia, 18th, noon; Mangonui, 5 p.m.; Kaeo, 19th, 10.30 a.m.; Paihia, 2.30 p.m.; Russell, stop night; Whangarei, 20th and 21st, stop night; Wellsford-Way by, 22nd; W T ark worth, 23rd; Auckland, 24th. ADJUSTING SHOCK ABSORBERS To ascertain whether the frictional shock absorbers on a car have been tightened sufficiently before starting on a journey, it is necessary to test them, by driving the car at usual touring speed over an average road, tightening or slackening the shock absorbers to suit requirements. If one habitually drives fast, the best plan is to tighten them up fairly well, so that there is very little movement when you jump up and down, standing on the front or rear dumb-irons. For town work it will probably be found more comfortable to slacken the absorbers a couple of divisions.
