The Log Book

PERSONAL.—Capt. D. Todd is in command of the Waiotapu, now at Auckland, and has with him the following officers: Chief, Mr. R. Burgess; second, Mr. A. Fraser; third, Mr. L. Leader; wireless operator, Mr. E. Gittings; chief engineer, Mr. A. Coad; second, Mr. G. Monaghan; third, Mr. J. Hutton; fourth. Mr. A. Alexander; fifth. Mr. H. Napier; chief steward, Mr. W. Bertwhistle.

KAWATIRI AND KUROW.—Advice has been received by the local office of the Union Company that both the colliers Kawatiri and Kurow leave Newcastle this afternoon for Auckland, where they are due next Monday.

KAIKORAI FOR NEWCASTLE.—This aftfernoon the Union Company’s collier Kaikorai undocks and berths at the King’s Wharf. At 10 o’clock this evening she leaves Auckland under the command of Captain C. Elders for Newcastle, where she will load for Wellington.

MAKURA FOR SYDNEY.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the RM.S. Makura, which arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from San Francisco via ports, sails at 6 o’clock this evening for Sydney, where she is due next Saturday. KEKERANGU FROM SOUTH AUSTRALIA.—From South Australian ports via Melbourne and Hobart, the Union Company’s steamer Kekerangu arrived at Dunedin this morning and -alls tomorrow afternoon via Lyttelton, Wellington and New Plymouth for Auckland. She is due here towards the end of next week.

WAIOTAPU IN PORT.—From the East via southern ports the Union Company’s Waiotapu arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon and berthed at the Queen’s Wharf to unload the balance of her cargo. To-morrow afternoon the vessel docks to have her hull cleaned and painted and on Saturday she leaves here for Vancouver direct to load for New Zealand.

lONIC’S PASSENGERS.—The White Star liner lonic, which is due at Auckland at midnight to-morrow from London and Southampton, has the following passengers on board:—First class: Mrs. V. MARAMA FROM SYDNEY.—Shortly after. 9 o’clock this morning the Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Marama arrived in the stream at Auckland from Sydney. Pratique was granted, and the vessel berthed at the Central Wharf to land her passengers, mails and cargo. The Marama left Sydney at 3 p.m., last Friday and experienced good weather for the run across the Tasman Sea. The following passengers arrived by the vessel:— First class: Mesdames R. Anderson, M.
