“THE FLEETS IN” What do sailor boys do the minute they touch shore after a long routine cruise at sea? The answer can be seen in ‘ The Fleet’s In/' which is now being shown at the Grand Theatre. Vivacious Clara Bow plays the chief role, and critics have said it is undoubtedly the best c h a r a cterisation she has ever done. Miss Bow is cast as a dance hall hostess, whose duty it is to encourage the sailors on shore leave to spend as much of their month’s pay for dance tickets as possible. It is during the visit of the fleet to her town that she becomes the cause of rivalry between two sailors from the same battleship. These parts are essayed by James Hall, a popular Paramount leading man, and Jack Oakie, a newcomer to the screen, but none the less adequate for the role. ‘•Me, Gangster,” the second feature, is an interesting and entirely different style of underworld picture, starring June Collyer.
