RIVOLI, HOWICK
“ODDS ON” In “Odds On,” the Australian-made racing picture, to be shown at the Rivoli Theatre, Howick, this evening, Phyllis Gibbs (Miss Australia), who portrays the daughter of a wealthy racehorse owner, acts with naturalness and grace. Mr. “Check” Hayes fills the role of the jockey who loves her, and Mr. S. Court is admirable as a trainer who is a rival for her affections. Mr. Arthur Tauchert supplies excellent humour as a racecourse “urger” and three-card-trick expert. The titles are specially good and the photography is perfect. A second big attraction will also be screened this evening in “Lady Owner,” a dramatic picture starring Violet Hobson and Stewart Rome.
