SERIOUS CHARGE
TWO MEN CONVICTED
Basil Herbert Alexander, a motor mechanic, aged 29, and Arthur Reginald Middleton, a baker, aged 33, were convicted at the Police Court this morning on a charge of committing a grossly indecent act in a public place. The charge was originally more serious, but was reduced on the application of Mr. Mahony, who appeared for Alexander.
Middleton was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment and, as he had attributed his trouble to drink, a prohibition order was issued.
Alexander was remanded for a week for sentence. An appeal for suppression of his name was refused
