First Day’s Card Draws Good Fields

TE AROHA ACCEPTANCES

DIVISION LIKELY IN HACK RACE

The To Aroha Jockey Club’s annual race meeting opens next Saturday, and the acceptances received for the various events are all round of so very satisfactory a character as to strengthen the view that the forthcoming gathering at the popular holiday resort will range up extremely well with the most noteworthy of its predecessors. The leading event of the first day’s programme is the Herries’ Memorial Handicap, and with ten horses engaged will ensure a contest in every way fitting to the occasion. With such a big field engaged in the Shaftsbury Handicap it is very likely that this race will be run in divisions. The following are a list of the horses engaged in the various events: RUAKAKA HANDICAP HURDLES Of £200; about li miles.
