EARLY START PROBABLE

NEW DESIGN NECESSARY

There is every chance that the new Wliau bridge will be commenced very shortly. Mr. W. L. Titchener, chairman of the New Lynn Town Board, waited on the Highways Board this morning and was advised that the Marine Department required a’ three-span bridge with sufficient clearance, the centre span being so constructed that it could be replaced so far as the overhead gear was concerned if necessary for canal purposes. “The next thing is for the local bodies to get together and agree with us on the design.” remarked Mr. A. E. Jull. the chairman. Mr. Tichener assured the board that no time would be wasted on the plans. •
