AMATEUR ATHLETICS
MEETING AT CARLAW PARK APPEARANCE OF C. M. OLSEN Auckland athletes and cyclists assembled on Saturday afternoon at Carlaw Park, where the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club held one cycle event and two running events, as a successful preliminary to the championships to be staged at the park next Saturday. One interesting feature of the afternoon’s sport was the appearance of C. M. Olsen, holder of the New eZaland half-mile title. Olsen competed in the half with Savidan, Barker and company, but after the first lap, which he covered in fine style, he pulled out. It was his first start for over 12 months, and it is doubtful whether he will be sufficiently fit to clinch a victory at the provincial meeting next Saturday.
