ROAD CONDITIONS

WEEKLY REPORT IMPROVED SURFACES Favourable weather for the past week has put many of the roads in better condition, according to the A.A.A. weekly report. Construction work in many places is causing deviations, and the engineers are endeavouring to place as little inconvenience as possible on motorists. North of Auckland all the surfaces are improved. Owing to metalling, motorists are advised to avoid the Kaiwaka - Wellsford - Wayby-Warkworth route. On the South Road the department has almost completed tar sealing the long stretch by the Ohinewai pumice works, and Huntly Town Board is progressing favourably with its sealing. A temporary bridge just south of Ohinewai, and south of this a gap in the tar sealing should be taken with care. Ngaruawahia to Hamilton provides the usual dangerous dust menace.
