BOMBAY ANNIVERSARY
SPORTS MEETING ARRANGED
(From Our Own Correspondent) PUKEKOHE, Wednesday. To further arrangements for the Bombay anniversary sports to be held on Saturday, March 16, commemorating the 64th anniversary of the founding of the Bombay settlement, residents of the Bombay district held a meeting last evening. There was an attendance of 30. Officers for the sports were elected as follow: —Patron, Mr. H. J. Flay; president, Air. R. Donovan; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. P. Bond, R. M. Broughton. G. T. Proude, D. McKenzie, W. D. Teesdale, A. Alaitland, J. B. Afclvinney, A,. J. Harris, C. AlcKinnon and E. J. Alorrison; chairman of Sports Committee, Air. A. Best; chairman of Children’s Sports Committee, Air. W. D. Teesdale; chairman of Social Committee, Air. K. Rpbinson; secretary and treasurer, Air. C. J. Whitmore; starter. Mr. Best: judges, Alessrs. G. Carter, E. J. Fahey and G. Cornthwaite; markers, Messrs. W. Fahey, P. Wyatt. J. Aliller, C. Fahey, J. Alill and S. Wilson; official handicappers, Messrs. A. Wray, C. Shaw, D. A. Reynolds and 11. Carter: result steward, Air. W. A. Peterson: Protest Committee, Alessrs. Best. Alill and Whitmore. A programme of running, jumping, chopping and novelty events was arranged, with prize money totalling £65.
