OUTBOARD RACING
EVENTS AT BUCKLANDS
A series of races for outboard motor-boats will be held at Buckland’s Beach on Saturday by the New Zealand Outboard Motor-Boat Association. Entries are good and some close contests are assured. All events will start and finish off the wharf. Following are the entries and hanGeneral Handicap, for Outboards. To start at 2.30 p.m., course 3 miles.—Humbug, Miss Arawa, scr; U. Devil, Imm; Miss Akarana, Imin lOsec; Nymph, Rainbow, 2min; Vave, Fleetun, 2mm 20sec; Miss Tamaki, The Chief, Dizzie, Chancit, Miss Kohi, Miss Jill, 2min 50sec. B Class Outboards, for Dewar s Cup. To start at 3.15 p.m., course 3 miles.— Miss Akarana, scr; Humbug, lmm; Fleetun, lmin 20sec; Miss Tamaki, Chancit, Miss Kohi, Miss Jill, Dizzie, 2mm 50sec; Vave, 3min lOsec. General Handicap, for Outboards. To start at 3.45 p.m., course 4 miles.—Entries same as first race; boats to be rehandicapped. , _ General Handicap, for Outboards. To start at 4.30 p.m.; course 4 miles.—Entries same as first race; boats to be rehandicapped. The handicaps in the second race are also subject to alteration. All competitors must fly the club flag and racing pennant. The club will hold a dance in Buckland’s Hall on Saturday evening. The officials in charge of the racing will be:—Starter, Mr. F. Fawcett; judgt', Captain Holmes: timekeeper, Mr. J. S. Dickson; handicapper, Mr. C. R. Wilson.
