Little Duchess ’s Brother Married

BIG CROWD AT WESTMINSTER (Australian and N,Z. Press Association) Reed, 9.40 a.m. LONDON, Wed. One of the biggest crowds seen for a long time outside St. Margaret’s, Westminster —over 5,000 people—assembled for the marriage of the Duchess of York’s brother, the Hon. David Bowes Lyon, to Miss Rachel Spender Clay. The Duke and Duchess walked along the pathway to the church in full view of the throng, which greeted them with cheers, the women waving their handkerchiefs and the men their hats. The guests included hosts of titled people. Among the wedding presents were those of the Queen and other members of the Royal family. The gift from the Duke and Duchess of York was a dining room table and four entree dishes.
