MT. ROSKILL’S REQUEST

APPLICATION TO BE HEARD The proposed elevation of the Mount Roskill Road District to a borough was advanced a stage at the board's meeting last evening, when advice was received that Mr. E. Cutten, S.M., has been appointed commissioner to investigate the position and report to the Governor-General early in March. Messrs. J. Warren and J. D. Whitmore. the clerk and engineer respectively to the board, were instructed to prepare the necessary evidence to place before the commissioner. The board’s solicitor also is to be consulted. The Auckland City Council notified that it proposed to go on with the reconstruction of Landscape Road, being the boundary between the two districts, at a cost of £990, but the board decided that it was unable to contribute to further work on boundary roads during the current financial year.
