STOP-WORK MEETING— The monthly stop-work meeting of the Auckland Waterside Workers’ Union was held this morning. Consequently, no work was done on the waterfront before 10 o’clock. PLUME SAILS. —The Vacuum Oil Company’s tanker Plume sailed for Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin yesterday afternoon to complete unloading bulk oil from San Francisco. COPTIC TO LOAD. —The Shaw. Savill and Albion motor-ship Coptic, which is en route from London to Australia, is scheduled to load in New Zealand for England in March. KUROW SAILS FOR NEWCASTLE. — The local office of the Union Company advises that the collier Kurow now sails from Auckland at 10 o’clock this evening for Newcastle where she will load coal for Auckland. BENTON’S MOVEMENTS.— Henderson I and Macfarlane advise that the steamer Benton leaves Wanganui to-morrow for Westport for bunkers: thence she proceeds to Sydney where she will be handed back to her owners. KILCREDANE FOR BUNKERS. —Advice has been received by Henderson and Macfarlane that the steamer Kilcredane left Lyttelton yesterday for Westport for bunkers; thence she proceeds to Makatea to load for Australia. MAUI POMARE DUE TO-MORROW.— Due at Auckland to-morrow afternoon from Wellington, the Government motorship Maui Pomare will berth at the King’s ’Wharf. She leaves here at 3 p.m. on ; Thursday with passengers, mails and cargo for Norfolk Island. The local agents are Spedding, Limited. lONIC DUE. —The White Star liner Tonic is due at Auckland next Tuesday with passengers, mail and cargo from London and Southampton. A quantity of cargo will be unloaded at Auckland and the remainder at Port Chalmers. JL. D. Nathan and Company, Ltd., is the local agent. CORINTHIC SAILS TO-MORROW.— The White Star linei- Corinthic leaves Auckland at daylight to-morrow for Gisborne, thence Lyttelton and Wellington, to fill up for Home. She is scheduled to sail finally from Wellington at daylight on February 16 for Southampton and London, via Panama. COWDEN LAW SAILS TO-MORROW. —Henderson and Macfarlane advise that the steamer Cowden Law leaves Auckland to-morrow for Lyttelton where she completes her discharge of Ocean Island phosphates; thence she proceeds to Westport for bunkers. Her future movements have not yet been fixed. WINGATUI DOCKED.— The Union Company’s steamer Wingatui was docked this morning to have her hull cleaned and painted before being recommissioned. She undocks to-morrow and sails from Auckland on Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru in place of the Kurow which has been diverted to Newcastle. CANADIAN TRANSPORTER SAILS. —Having completed loading at King’s Wharf, the Canadian National Steamships steamer Canadian Transporter moved to Western Wharf this morning, to take on fuel oil. At 2 o'clock this afternoon she was to be dispatched finally from New Zealand for Halifax, via New York and Boston.
MAMI LI US IN PORT.— The AberdeenWhite Star steamer Mamilius arrived at Auckland this morning from 'Wellington, and berthed at the Queen's Wharf to continue her loading, under the agency of A. S. Paterson and Company. From here the vessel proceeds to Wanganui, thence New Plymouth, Bluff and Port Chalmers to complete loading, sailing finally from Port Chalmers on February 22 for London, via Panama.
KIA ORA'S PROGRAMME. —On completion of her discharge at Auckland of her cargo of basic slag, the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Kia Ora will com - mence loading at this port for Home. Later she fills up at Oamaru, Wanganui, Wellington, Timaru and Lyttelton, and is scheduled to sail finally from the Canterbury port on March 1 for London, via Panama. L. D. Nathan and Company are the local agents. THE PORT MELBOURNE. —The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Melbourne, which is due at Auckland from Australia on February 16, wi?l load refrigerated and general cargo at this port and will then go to Gisborne, Napier and Wellington to continue loading The vessel is to return to Auckland on March 8 to complete loading, and two days later she is to be dispatched for London, via Panama. The Farmers’ Cooperative Auctioneering Company is the local agent. QUEEN OLGA WITH SUGAR. —The steamer Queen Olga arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon with a full cargo of sugar from Java for discharge at the works at Chelsea. The vessel is a wartime standard-built steamer, and was launched at Glasgow in 3 919. She was first named the War Archusa and then the Bembridge. Her owners are the Cadogan Steamship Company, Glasgow. The Queen Olga left Newcastle-on-Tyne on May 24, and went to Lisbon and loaded a full cargo of cork, which was discharged at Sydney. Afterwards she made two voyages to Ocean Island and loaded phosphates for Australia. On her present voyage slie cleared Java on January 11 and experienced fine weather to Auckland. Captain C. TT. Radford is in command, and the following are the officers:—Chief, Mr. F. P. Macintyre: second, Mr. T. Hughes; third. Mr. H. S. Todd; wireless operator, Mr. IT. M. Webster; chief engineer. Mr. A. Scott; second, Mr. J. Earnshaw: third, Mr. A. IT. Scott; fourth, Mr. P. Bringan; chief stewaVd. Mr. W. Ritchie. The vessel’s crew totals 39 all told. The firemen are Arabs and the remainder of the crew are Europeans. Spedding, Limited are the local agents and expect to dispatch the vessel on Thursday week for Westport for bunkers; thence she goes to South Australia to load for Europe. PORT OF ONEHUNGA—
DEPARTURES YESTERDAY RARAWA (4.20 p.m.), 1,077 tons. Bark, for New Plymouth. HAUTURU (5 p.m.), 270 tons, JacksonFowler, for Raglan and Kawhia. ARAPAWA (10.45 p.m.). 251 tons, Robertson, for Waikato Heads. ARRIVAL TO-DAY HOKIANGA (7.30 a.m.), 240 tons, Kennedy, from Hokianga. The auxiliary schooner Hokianga arrived at Onehunga at half-past seven this morning from the port of Hokianga. She sails again at 3 o’clock to-morrow afternoon on the return trip. The Rarawa, which sailed last evening for New Plymouth, returns again at 7.30 a.m. to-morrow. , The Anchor steamer Titoki sailed from Nelson yesterday for Onehunga. where she is due to-morrow morning. The vessel will load and sail on Thursday for Nelson, Pic ton and West Coast ports. The Arapawa sailed late last evening for Waikato Heads. She is due back again at 6 O’clock to-morrow morning, and at 3 p.m. the same day sails for Wanganui. The Hauturu, which left last evening for Raglan and Kawhia. is scheduled to return at G o’clock on Thursday morning.
