CHASE AND CAPTURE

MAN WHO TRIED TO DOPE GREYHOUND (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY, Thursday^ A brazen attempt to administer a drug to a racing greyhound at Mascot to-day resulted in a stern chase and the capture of the fugitive. He turned out to be W. Coventry, the owner of another dog. Coventry was disqualified by the coursing authorities for life. He was seen patting a dog named Irish Castle. At the same time he gave it a piece of meat. The owner of the dog, who happened to be near, saw what had happened, and made the animal drop the meat, inside of which was found a white pill. ' Coventry ran away. Several people shouted to others to stop him, and he ran straight into the arms of a course detective.
