MANAWATU IN GOOD POSITION Press Association * PALMERSTON N„ Thursday. In the Hawke Cup cricket match today, Manawatu’s first innings closed for 427. Wairarapa replied with 189, and was compelled to follow on. The visitors had lost three wickets for SO runs when stumps were drawn. Baumber and Fletcher continued Manawatu’s innings this morning, and runs came steadily. With the score at 41S Baumber went Ibw to Falloon, after making 162. The innings closed for 427. For Wairarapa Hoar took three wickets for 87, Falloon two for 74, Montgomerie two for 37. Renner one for 44, Blamires one for 29, Utley one for 24
