SQUADRON RACES HORTON BEQUEST EVENT A general handicap for keel yachts and. a race for M class boats will be held to-morrow by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron over harbour courses. The keel yacht race will be started on the Mark Foy system. The first prize is £2O from the Horton bequest. Handicaps will be declared tomorrow as customary. Following are the ehtries: Rawene, Ariki, lorangi, Thelma, Prize, Nga-Toa, Ida, Rangi, Victory, Wairiki, Scout, Waione, Moana, Kotiri and Windward. The first prize for class M is £5, presented by Mr. J. H. Frater. The entries are as follow:—Manene, Matarere, Mawhiti, Maroro, Maia, Maratea and Mischief.

TAKAPUNA BOATING CLUB CRUISING AND HARBOUR RACES Cruising races to Surfdale and harbour races from the Takapuna Boating Club’s programme to-morrow. The harbour events will start and finish off the clubhouse, Bayswater. The course will be as follows:—Stai't at clubhouse, thence round end beacon, thence round mark buoy off Northcote, thence round mark at head of bay, round mark off clubhouse, twice round; all marks on starboard; finish between mark buoy and clubhouse. Cruising races will start off Stanley Point, between launch and dinghy moored south, direct to Surfdale, observe all fairway marks, and finish between launch and mark moored south. The race for the speed-boat championship of the Manukau will be held by the club on Februay 16. TAURANGA YACHTING CSpedal to THE StJNJ TAURANGA, To-day. Two sailing races were held yesterday by the Tauranga Yacht and PowerBoat Club. The first, for boats from 14ft to 16ft, was won by L. Hammond’s Charm, with Wizard second and No Surrender third. The race for sevenfooters was won by L. Young’s IXL. Bovril was second and Mistral third. MODEL YACHT REGATTA Results of the model yacht section, of the Auckland Anniversary Regatta are now available: —Boys’ race (17 entries): Prospero, 1; Aotearoa, 2; Starlight. 3. Open handicap (9 entries): Silver Bell, 1; Felix, 2; Nigger, 3. SANDERS’ CUP BOATS MEASUREMENT BEFORE RACES Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. At a meeting of the Sailing and Power Boat Association last evening Sanders Cup arrangements were discussed, and a recommendation to the Dominion Conference was carried that all boats be measured at the contestsbefore each race by means of outside moulds.
