BETTER GAS TAR WANTED Press Association "WANGANUI, Thursday. At the Gas Manufacturers’ Conference to-day. Mr. A. McNeil, of Birkenhead, was elected a life member of the institute. The question of improving the quality of the tar produced by gasworks to ensure its use for roading was mentioned, and it was decided to refer it to the incoming council. It was emphasised that a great waste is at present going on through the tar not being as good as certain prepared materials for this class of work.
