He arrived in New Zealand with an established New South Wales and Swedish record, being an ex-decathlon champion of the Australian State and a winner of decathlon events in his native land before coming to the Southern Hemisphere. At the sports meeting on Saturday evening last at Wellington he put up the star performance of the evening by throwing the discus 127 ft 3in, after which he won the hop. step and jump from the scratch mark, covering 44ft 3in. He has been chosen by the Wellington Centre as one of its representatives in the high, long, and hop and step jumps, and in the discus and javelin throwing events. To watch him jump is a real treat. He seems to soar slowly through the air, while there is nothing hurried at any stage of his performance.
